In 2003 LInda Goebel and her son took four stained glass lessons from her pastor.

Those lessons became a catalyst that launched Linda into an exploration of stained glass using the Tiffany copper foil method.

With a few exceptions, all of Linda’s glass designs are original From panels to nightlights, pendants to wind chimes, each piece is carefully handcrafted to be enjoyed for years to come.

Can you believe that Thanksgiving and the holiday season is upon us? We hope that you all have great holiday plans. If you have the time, consider starting the holiday off with Nestor Ortiz and his group, In the Loop who will be playing at the FLounge this Wednesday, November 21st from 6 pm to 9pm.

Next Friday, November 30th, Geneva will be having a Downtown Open House from 5 to 9 pm. The Flounge will be hosting a special musical double bill, with Cliff McCann @ 5 pm, to followed Bob & Dee from 7 to 10 pm. Come out and support locally owned downtown merchants, get some holiday shopping done and enjoy various activities. Our favorites from last year were a horse-drawn wagon ride (free!) and a visit from Santa.

The open house extends into Saturday, December 1st this year. We understand that Santa will be making a special visit to the FLounge from about 10:45 until 11:30 am. The FLounge is offering our second annual ice cream special until Thanksgiving. Buy any entree and beverage, and receive a dish or cone of delicious Purity ice cream (made locally in Ithaca, of course). If you want to go ‘real sweet’, buy any dessert cake and get it a la mode for free. Bet you can’t get this sweet deal at those golden arches!

Music returns this Friday night to The Flounge. Naiad featuring Diana Modera will be performing from 7-10. As always, there is no cover. We now have flatbread pizza, hot sandwiches and salads. Make an evening out of it!!!!!

Fall painting classes with Joanne Mitchell return to The Lounge in October. The following classes are available:

WITCHIE TREAT BOX: This treat box is wooden and measures 5 ½” tall x 8 ¾” square. The box costs $20.00 and the class fee is $5.00 for each class. It is an easy project to paint as most of it is stenciled. Bring paper towels, wax paper, water dish and your paint brushes and stencil brushes. Classes will be Tuesday, October 2nd and 16th from 9:30 to Noon.

FALL PAINTED WOODEN EGGS: There will be lots of patterns to paint six of these adorable eggs each at class. The eggswill be basecoated ahead of time in fall colors and you will pick your design of choice to trace on and paint. It will be a two-week project. The eggs are $5.00 each and the class fee is $5.00 for each class. Bring paper towels, wax paper, water dish and your paint brushes. Wednesday mornings, October 3rd and 10th, 9:30 to Noon.
